Inline editing for Issue Matrix fields
The inline edit feature gives users the ability to quickly edit issues within an Issue Matrix field, without navigating away from the current page, thus saving countless hours per week. Users can edit inline system fields, custom fields, and Service Desk fields, as well as different types of custom fields such as Select List, Story Points, and others. Inline editing is supported for all Issue Matrix modes – Sub-tasks, Issue Links, Epic, Filter and Custom JQL.
Quick & error-free creation of relations between objects
This new feature enables users to quickly and effectively create relations between objects in an error-free way. Now you can configure actions that create and link issues with predefined Project, Issue Type, and Link type configuration. Each panel can have separate semantically related actions. This feature eliminates user errors and their subsequent consequences.
Enhanced visibility into related Issues
Would you like to be able to bring some context into your Issues even though they are not directly linked? With this feature, Issue Matrix enables you to visualize issues which are not directly linked but share a common context, thus significantly improving users visibility into related issues. By providing an extension to the JQL syntax, users can now compare issue fields with the values stored in the currently viewed issue.
This new capability allows related issues to be visualized based on the same system (e.g., same reporter) or custom (e.g., labels) value field. The feature is an indispensable aid for both Jira Software and Jira Service Desk users.
Ability to categorize your issues
Effective traceability is one of the significant challenges for users who are either part or manage large projects. This was the primary driver behind the implementation of the Issue categorization feature – we wanted to give users the ability to identify particular issues in an Issue Matrix field quickly. An effective color-coded mechanism enables users to quickly spot issues belonging to a specific category (e.g., issues that are overdue, or any other JQL-based logic).
Visualize Issue Matrix fields in the Issue Navigator
Jira’s Issue Navigator enables users to navigate lists of issues quickly, switch to a detail view from the basic list view and back again, and take action on those items that need your immediate attention. The added value of Issue Matrix is that it enables you to visualize your Issue Matrix tables within the Navigator easily. There are two modes of visualization – Issue Keys, where you can choose to visualize only the keys of the sub-tasks and linked issues; and Issue Matrix table, which visualizes the entire table.
