Key takeaways from Atlassian’s European Summit
Hola! Botron’s team returned from a fantastic week in Barcelona where we had a chance to talk with dozens of people about agility, scalability and attend several amazing keynotes and breakout sessions during the first ever Atlassian European Summit. As a gold sponsor of the event, we were amongst the 1,800 attendees from around the globe who got a chance to experience this inspiring event. Here’s our recap of the events that occurred between 2-5 May 2017 in Barcelona!
Major Atlassian Announcements
Introducing Trello – the latest addition to the Atlassian family
Michael Pryor, the co-founder of Trello, introduced the solution as part of the Atlassian family for the first time since its acquisition. Trello’s boards are already used by more than 20 million people from companies of the size of Google, Pixar, Twitter, Spotify, and others. Trello is now well-integrated with the rest of Atlassian’s products like HipChat, Confluence, and JIRA. Additionally, it has integration with Google Drive and Dropbox.
No more one-size-fits-all: introducing tailored deployment options for your teams
Bryan Rollins, the Head of Server Business at Atlassian, announced that the company will be prioritizing features differently across the various deployment options: Cloud, Server, or Data Center. Based on the feedback from users, Atlassian is making a shift from the “one size fits all” approach to rolling out new features designed to meet the needs of the different deployment options.
Simply powerful: the biggest redesign of the Atlassian suite
During the summit, Jurgen Spangl, the Head of Atlassian Design, unveiled the biggest redesign to the Atlassian suite. Again, taking into serious consideration the feedback from users, Spangl and his team focused on simplicity as the cornerstone to successful teamwork. The clean, simple and user-friendly new design, users will be able to better organize their work and significantly improve their productivity.
In between keynotes and breakout sessions, our team was busy talking with people and demonstrating the latest features of our products. We got to chat with numerous JIRA admins, Program Managers and Scrum Masters about their challenges – from administration and process management to the challenges associated with managing multiple teams. Luckily, we could offer viable solutions to their challenges!
Scale your JIRA: helping managers track many teams across multiple sprints
During the event, we got a lot of inquiries from people looking to scale the agile development and release management in their JIRA – Program Managers, RTEs and Scrum Masters stopped by our booth to take a look at Cycle Control, our Program & Release Management solution designed to help the effective tracking and management of multiple teams and initiatives. The new forecasting feature of our solution quickly gained momentum amongst users and people were excited to learn that they are now able to acquire actionable data on the progress of their releases!
Migration experts, as recommended by Atlassian!
One of the most exciting moment for our team was during the Enterprise Ready – What’s New in Data Center session, where Botron’s team was praised for its expertise in helping enterprises ensure seamless portability of their data – from promoting changes in JIRA, to migrating entire projects between instances or consolidating efforts, our team was recommended for its professional handling of such large-scale projects. We are proud to announce our collaboration with Atlassian in crafting a detailed documentation of our processes – if you want to learn more about this, click here.
